Kuoni Travel Holding Ltd has acquired, together with a local partner, an 80% stake in Dubai-based Desert Adventures Tourism on the 1st July 2008. The remaining 20% is being retained by the current managing director. Desert Adventures Tourism is active in destination management in four countries in the region: the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain.
Kuoni Destination Management continues to expand. The recently opened new branch office in Helsinki underlines the strategic importance of the Scandinavian market in the cruise sector, as well as for Kuoni Destination Management's meetings, incentives, conferences, events and congress business.
The new Kuoni Destination Management Sales office based in Jakarta will be the first Sales Unit in the fourth most populated country in the world. Its opening underlines the strategic importance of the Indonesian outbound market for Kuoni Destination Management's meetings, incentives, conferences and events business.
DMC Nice as destination service provider for IDEF in Cannes
The Interactive & Digital Entertainment Festival 'IDEF' in Cannes took place from 24th to 26th June 2008. IDEF chose Kuoni Destination Management's Nice-based office for the third time running to be their main provider of destination services. This event brings together video game and entertainment software publishers, gaming console manufacturers, distributors and component manufacturers.
