Coach / Cars

The Slovak Republic has an extensive road net. The quickest way to get to Slovakia from the West is by the highway from Bratislava via Brno to Prague.

Air

Bratislava Airport is some 11km from the city centre. Buses run to the city (travel time - 30 minutes). Taxis are also available (travel time - 15 minutes).

Train

The most convenient route to Slovakia from Western Europe is via Vienna or Prague. Slovakia's rail system also provides direct connections with Hamburg, Berlin, Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, Bucharest, Moscow, Lvov, Vilnius, St. Petersburg and Kiev.

Boat

International connections from Austria are offered on the Danube, which is linked with the Rhine, the Black Sea and the Main. Services run as follows: Bratislava-Vienna-Bratislava; Bratislava-Hainburg-Bratislava; and Vienna-Bratislava-Budapest, both ways.
