Dublin
With a population of over a million, Dublin has its share of social problems, but still seems as friendly and close-knit as any village. St Stephen's Green makes a good starting point for exploring Georgian Dublin. Sights not to miss include Trinity College and the Book of Kells, Dublin Castle, the National Museum of Ireland, the National Gallery of Ireland, and the cathedrals of Christ Church and St Patrick's. However, Dublin caters to many tastes: literary, artistic, architectural etc. The DART suburban rail system allows easy access to the coast at Bray or Howth. Above all, Dublin is a sociable place; there are over 800 pubs, a good selection of restaurants, theatres, and music venues in the city.
