The resorts of Bansko, Pamporovo, and Borovets attract many tourists but the residents of the capital, Sofia, tend to head for the slopes of Mount Vitosha, only half an hour's drive away. Along the 374 kilometres (232 miles) of Black Sea coast are many beach resorts, from Balchik in the north to Primorsko in the south, a better kept secret are the fishing villages of Sozopol and Nesebôr.
