Bruges
Bruges, or Brugge as it’s known in Flemish, is impossibly picturesque – a misty, romantic town of canals and cobbled lanes, steeples and bells. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this modest town of 116,000 attracts an overwhelming three million visitors each year, many of them British, enticed by its Gothic, Romanesque and Renaissance architecture, atmospheric streets and its love of chocolate.
